Mr. Penn has been practicing in the areas of insurance defense and casualty litigation for 20 years. Licensed to practice in Louisiana and Mississippi, his practice focuses on insurance coverage of all types, as well as construction, both counsel and litigation. It also includes personal injury and property damage defense. Since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Mr. Penn has done significant work in residential and commercial construction matters, on behalf of insurers and the contractors and artisans they insure. He has experience in fire losses, business losses, and offshore injury and damage cases. He has defended electrical product and automobile product manufacturers as well.
Mr. Penn has also defended errors and omissions and professional liability claims on behalf of such clients as architects, hospital management companies, employee-benefits consultants and real estate professionals. He provides ongoing counsel to insurers (both first- and third-party), insurance brokers, coverholders and agents, including underwriting and claims-handling professionals.
Mr. Penn has tried construction defect, personal injury and property damage cases to verdict before both judges and juries throughout Louisiana. He has also been a presenter to insurance professionals and attorneys in continuing education on insurance coverage and construction defect matters.
